Although Dr. Phillipson offers a very specialized approach in regard to treatment and insights pertaining to OCD, he does not provide referral information regarding clinicians outside of the Center staff, since he cannot take into account the quality of services that other mental health care providers offer.
Since there is a recognized shortage of qualified specialists, Dr. Phillipson does offer phone consultations in certain circumstances. This service is described in the Web site. Please do not send lengthy e-mails seeking therapeutic suggestions or advice. Therapy is a complex process which requires a great deal of information. The web site is provided to educate sufferers and their loved ones about a state of the art treatment approach and conceptual understanding.
E-mails will only be responded to from OCD sufferers or parents of a child with OCD which are short in nature and involve the seeking of clarification regarding information given within the web site.
